It is very hard to find books on West African Folklore. I mean specifically on folklore, not mythology or religion, because I want information on creatures/spirits as opposed to Gods.
A lot of the myth & spirit encyclopedias I have treat Africa as one country (or a couple of countries N. Africa, Central & S. Africa, etc.) and have few to no entries at all. The online sources are extremely limited and when available contain very little information. Quelle Surprise.
I think I’m going to have to make a trip down to the main library again and see if any of their reference books are any better or more detailed.
